Orange Is The New Black…Tuesday?

IMG_3651Hello everyone. A quick post today since I have been assigned for some fieldwork at the very last minute. *Sigh* I have to pack and get ready because I will be leaving in an hour. I just wanted to post today’s OOTD before I head out again.

It’s another vintage OOTD for me today. The dress belongs to my late mother and again sewn by my aunt for her. I believe this dress was sewn somewhere in the late 70’s or early 80’s. It was inspired by a couture YSL dress (according to my aunt) which was at the time was all the hype over here. It’s also such a comfortable dress and I love the deep large pocket’s at the sides. It’s so handy. Since the colour is a neon-ey carrot orange, I contrasted my accessories that I thought would compliment the dress rather. The focus was on this carrot coloured dress rather than the accessories. 🙂 I know for some people this siren colour is something scary to wear but I like it. I’m somehow drawn to neons and cannot resist have some in my closet. Colours make me happy and really does boost my mood for the day. 🙂

I hope everyone has had a great day so far and I hope you enjoy this post. See you soon. 🙂

Monochrome Monday

IMG_3661Hello everyone! I’m back after a whole week’s break. I’ve been away celebrating Eid with my family and things were quite hectic leading up to it. I didn’t intend to take a whole week of leave but my dad convinced me to take a break. 🙂 Since so much has happen this whole month, I caved and took my annual leave. Today I’m back at work and hopefully my posting pace will be normal again.

Looking back at my closet, I notice I have a lot of clothes in black and white. I suppose I always end up picking these shades because they are fail safe and easy to style especially when I don’t have time to think about what to wear (especially on my disorganised-i dont-give-two-hoots-days :P) I really do need to do a closet detox at some point so I know what I actually have (umm..hoarder much?? haha)

Now on to today’s stuff please! 🙂

I wore a monochrome houndstooth dress and of course I had to pair it with the houndstooth handbag I got for my birthday last year.Haha. I could’ve gone overboard by pairing my outfit with my houndstooth heels but  I have sense to realise it is way TOO much. Haha. There is something about these sort of patterns with me. I get obsessed and have to get everything in the same motif.

I ended up with finishing my look with a pair of simple black peep toe and minimal accessories. Weapon of choice…Just earrings and rings today. 🙂

I’m in the midst of preparing my Eid OOTD’s round up which I think will be ready by tomorrow. Just a bit of tweaking here and there and editing a little bit of my pictures. So stay tuned. Hope everyone has/had a great day today. Till the next entry! 🙂

OOTD:Frilly Thursday

Hello everyone. Today has been a busy day. I had the longest day today trying to get work done. Tomorrow will be the last day before the long weekend. Plus next Monday and Tuesday will be Eid so everyone will be away. As much as I am excited for Eid, I am still left with quite a bit of things to sort out for work. Anyway today I wore a frilly floral cardigan with a printed pair of trousers. I did another purple eye look with the Urban Decay Electric Palette shade just because I’m digging purple at the moment. 🙂 One thing I’ve notice is about one of the eyeshadows is that it really does stain which is Jilted. So a good eye primer is most essential. I must admit that today’s eye was a bit stronger than yesterday. But on both days, I did notice some staining.  Since I was feeling a bit bold today with the eyeshadow, the handbag of choice today was a metallic gold handbag. It was to suit my nail colour but honestly it was a bit too Va Va Voom for work. Then again, I thought I’d just wing it for a bit of fun! haha.

Polka Dot Monday

A simple OOTD for work today. What better to style with than Polka dots. I didnt feel particularly fancy today. Maybe I had the case of the Monday Blues? haha. Anyway, I find polka dot goes with pretty much everything. 🙂 I wore a polka dot shirt with ruffles and paired it with some black trousers and some heels. When all things fail, we seek the polka dot to add some fun in the outfit.

OOTD Sunday Picks

As promised, I am back with my OOTD post. 🙂 I had fun with my sister shopping for Eid but the crowd was ridiculous so I didn’t get much browsing but I did manage to get all I needed. I’m going to pick up my outfit on Wednesday so after that I’m set! The weather is a bit warm today and the sun was shining bright. So I decided on a simple cooling outfit and some comfy mesh pumps. I’ve featured this top I wore to work in an earlier post. I also played around with the Electric Palette today for a pop of colour to suit the bright sunny day and I guess its going to be my go to palette this week. 🙂  Anyway, the weekend is over and tomorrow I’m back to work. Still havent figured out what to wear but I already ironed a weeks worth so lets see what I’m in the mood for tomorrow. Hope everyone has had a great day!

OOTD Saturday Picks

After a long pause from posting OOTD’s, today I have one. The traveling didn’t permit me to post any OOTD picture because I was in a boiler suit half the time (nothing interesting I promise you 🙂 ). Today I had dinner with family at an aunts house. I took advantage of her new lighting for some of the photos. I was in the mood for a checkered shirt with some jeans today. I think they’re so easy to style and is staple print for me. I wore my new favourite floral flats and a chunky statement necklace. Anyway, till next time Happy weekend everyone!

A Fashion Haul

Hey everyone. I have a fashion haul today.  Well technically I bought some shoes and trousers last Saturday but I only managed to post the pictures on Instagram about 3 days ago. Of course I drafted the post first and today I am finally posting the entry. haha. I’ve been saving for a spree for a few months already because I needed new trousers for work and some flat shoes too. I went out on a quest to look for bright summer motif trousers but of course I will always stray from the plan with one or two items.

The sales are on and of course I had to go to ZARA to get my trousers fix! I just like how comfortable and well made they are. I’ve been eyeing a few pairs there and the wait was totally worth it.

IMG_2323 IMG_2325

At ZARA I bought 3 pairs of trousers, one a bright neon yellow, a stripe design and also an ink print design. I wanted to get a neon pink pair as well but my size was sold out. I chose these 3 pairs because I think they are versatile to style. They would go with pretty much anything. Plus, they look fresh. I’m always a sucker for these kind of colours and prints.

The next place I went to get trousers, which was totally not planned, as usual, was H&M. I went to H&M originally for some shirts and plain T’s. Sadly, the ones I was eyeing for a while didn’t have my size. So while I was wondering of to the exit, I saw the ‘further reduction’ sign for trousers. I bought a  pair of black trousers with some pleather on the side and another ink pattern type as well.  Yup, I tend to get a little obsessive when I like a certain thing. Having said that though, I am proud to say I didn’t buy the entire shop. I tend to go overboard in H&M because they are so cheap. This time, I only bought the 2 trousers. This NEVER happens. Ever! I normally will glide through the jewellery section or find an excuse to sneak by the bag section. This time however, I managed to behave. haha.

Then I got my self some shoes at another mall. I went there to get some groceries and stumbled upon these babies.  I’ve been planning to get some flats for a while now. I’ve been wanting to get floral and tribal prints shoes for a few months now and thought I’de get some in the sale for daily wear. Usually, when I go to work I like to wear flats because it’s really handy for people who take public transportation.Generally I wear flats to and back from work and change into heels when I get to the office.

I was in love with these 2 pairs of shoes the minute I laid eyes on them and they were on sale for 2 for the price of one. I cannot believe how ridiculously comfortable they are and I am so happy i bought them both.

Floral motifs are the sudden craze at the moment. The ones I bought here, goes with pretty much everything. The dark base seems to brings out the flower pattern nicelyI think this will be a staple I will be using more frequently.
IMG_2332The next printed flats I bout were tribal prints. Inside the shoe, it was laced with polka dots. I know no one will see it but I really like it. Makes it a bit more fun rather than the usual plain colour. I think this will look great with some plain jeggings or with some bold coloured skinny’s. I’m thinking it would look nice with those neon yellow trousers I got from ZARA. 🙂IMG_2333

Anyway, do any of you own any fun prints? Do you have favourites? I’m really loving my purchase and can’t wait to start wearing them soon. Ok, now I’m off to work on my June favourites list. I hope to post that tomorrow. Wish me luck! 🙂

Purple Wednesday

Hello everyone. It seems I’m having a tiny obsession with stripes of late. I woke up late today and just grab whatever I could reach in the closet. Thank god for my ‘marathon-ironing’ Sunday. So in the heat of the rush I forgot my makeup bag, so no makeup today. 🙂 I wore some new flats I bought on the weekend in the sale. I’m glad I got them because they are ridiculously comfortable.Plus they were dirt cheap. Hope everyone has had or will have a great day.

Owly Monday

This is what I wore yesterday. I had this shirt for a few weeks already and totally forgot about it. Since I wanted a fuss free outfit and was feeling a little bit chirpy, I thought this shirt suited best. The material is cooling and it doesn’t require ironing! As much as I like ironing sometimes this kind of material is a life saver!  I love the owl prints on the shirt. Though it’s actually a casual shirt, theres nothing a jacket cannot do to make it more formal. 🙂 I paired the out fit with some red skinny trousers and a pair of red shoes I haven’t worn for a while. Sometimes a simple look works well with some bold coloured heels, don’t you think? 🙂

Pinstripe Tuesday

Hello blogsphere! Finally some time to do my entries. My draft pile is growing and I really need to organize my days properly so I can have time to post. When I’m not posting my entries I seem to be thinking about what to write all the time. haha. It’s going to be little bit backwards today because I’ve decided to I’ll be posting some of last week’s outfits through out the night. 🙂 I’ll start with todays out fit first since it’s only fair to start with the present. Plus the fact that I have the pictures handy now. haha.

So I decided on a pinstripe shirt for work today since the haze has decided to grace itself today and gloom up my day. I paired it with a pencil skirt. I love pinstripes. It is always fuss free for me because I feel its easy to match with pretty much anything. I wore my go to metallic bronzy shoes which seems to be the shoes I grab most these days.
